Café Crème is the cigarillo that provides a gentle and reassuring introduction to the world of cigar and cigarillo smoking. They are incredibly widely available in most countries in the world, and it’s not unusual to hear about people losing their cigar “virginity” by puffing away on a Café Crème. It says a lot about the deliciousness of Café Crème cigars that those who start with Café Crème often go on to find an incredibly satisfying passion in cigar smoking.

These little cigars are incredibly seductive, with a delicious smooth taste. They really challenge preconceptions about bitter and harsh cigarillos.  The difference between Café Crème and their lower quality competitors is evident in every single puff.  You can really taste the high quality of the tobacco and the immaculate construction that goes into Café Crème. While these are machine rolled rather than handmade cigars, there is none of the construction problems and shoddiness that is all too often seen in the cheaper machine rolled cigars. Each Café Crème has a solid construction that delivers a large plume of deep, delicious smoke, puff after puff.

The first puff of a Café Crème won’t just grab your attention, but it will grab the attention of anyone in the room. Unlike many cigars at this price point, this attention will not be negative. Café Crème provides a rich, aromatic smoke that fills a room with a very pleasant smell.

The flavor is mostly light and mild, without being too sweet.  The first puff is reminiscent of dark rum, settling into a rich coffee flavor in the aftertaste.  It’s the kind of tasty and light cigar that you could smoke all day, and if you enjoy them as much as I did you probably will!

Café Crème cigars are fantastic if you are afraid of commitment. If you want to enjoy one of these beauties, then you won’t have to make much of a commitment in terms of time, money or aftertaste.  They are a very quick smoke, which makes them ideal for when you just don’t have the time to nurse a larger cigar. Whether you’re on the go, or enjoying a quick break from work, Café Crème fit right into your busy day. They are also incredibly good value. They’re on the expensive side compared to other machine rolled cigarillos, but when you consider the high quality of the construction and taste then you’ll find that they easily represent value for money. If you’re enjoying them before a meal, a date, or any other time where you might not want the taste of cigar smoke to linger in your mouth, then you’ll find that they are mild enough to be undetectable incredibly quickly.

Of course, there are some times where it’s a lot nicer to relax with a long, leisurely smoke, and Café Crème cigars aren’t the right choice for those times. However, if you just want a quick burst of flavor, then Café Crème are way ahead of the pack.

Dannemann Cigars

Burning Cigarillo, little Cigar

Image via Wikipedia

The Dannemann brand originated in Brazil, and was started by a German immigrant in 1873. Geraldo Dannemann, the company’s eponymous founder, had the very noble aim of producing the world’s finest cigars.  Whether he ever achieved that aim is a matter of opinion, but one thing is for sure: he founded a company that produces some delicious, high quality cigars.

Dannemann Moods cigarillos are one of the most popular cigarillos on the market. It’s an extremely enjoyable cigarillo, with a very subtle hint of tropical fruit.  The delicate tropical fruit infusion comes from the specially cured wrapping. It’s a delicious, full fruit flavor without being overpowering or sickly. They charm of Dannemann Moods come from this well-balanced flavor. Unlike most fruit flavored cigars and cigarillos, the delicate tropical aroma doesn’t dominate the flavor of the cigarillo.

Buy High Quality Cigars, Pipe Tobacco and Bluts at BNB Tobacco

Dannemann Moods are relatively complex for a cigarillo, with a delightful cream note that underlines the more prominent tropical fruit taste. It’s also easy to detect a slight spicy hint to the flavor, especially on the aftertaste. This surprising complexity is testament to the high quality of Dannemann Moods. It’s incredibly unusual to find such a range of complex flavors in a cigarillo, and even more so to find a real range of flavor in a fruit infused smoke.  Only a cigarillo made with care, passion and true craftsmanship could be such an intriquing smoke.  Dannemann Moods inflame the mind, and captivates the senses.

The complexities of these delightful little Danneman cigarillos are a fantastic simulation for anyone with a creative bent. Whether you’re an artist, a writer or a musician, you’ll find Dannemann Moods a truly inspiring smoke. They are fantastic with a cup of coffee.  The taste seems to blend particularly well with a fine, dark Sumatran roast.  The cigarillo’s delicate fruit flavor mingles on the palate with the subtle tropical notes of the Sumatran’s aftertaste.

If you’ve never tried a cigarillo before, you should start with Dannemann Moods. They are ideal both for experienced cigar smokers and people who are “turning to the dark side” from cigarettes. Their small size and mild smoke make them perfect for those who are inexperienced with more robust and long cigar experiences, but even seasoned cigar smokers will find plenty here to excite them.

If you’re used to smoking Gurkha cigars but you’ve not tried Dannemann Moods yet, you’re really missing a trick. It’s not too much of a stretch to imagine that this will become one of your go-to cigarillos. The flavor is so delicious that it will be hard not to smoke these on a daily basis. The great size is absolutely perfect for a coffee break, and the great taste will make it a memorable one.  If you smoke just one cigarillo this year, you’d be foolish if you didn’t make it a Dannemann Moods.  For the all around goodness, Dannemann Moods just can’t be beat.

Don Diego

Montecristo cigar.

Image via Wikipedia

Don Diego cigars have enough history on the American market to be considered a classic. They are often overlooked by so called “serious cigar smokers” who prefer a more intense or robust flavor. The truth is that smoking extremely mild cigars like Don Diego can be just as rewarding as puffing on far more intense smokes. The same company makes Don Diego as the very highly regarded Dominican variants of the famous Montecristo and Romeo Y Julieta brands. With that kind of pedigree, it’s no wonder that Don Diego cigars have offered cigar enthusiasts a consistently delightful smoke for years.

Even if you’ve always been a fan of full-bodied, intense cigars you might find there are certain where a mild cigar like Don Diego become the preferred option. If you’re just looking to relax and enjoy a nice evening with the help of a fine cigar, then an intense smoke can often be far too challenging on the palate.  Also, if you are in a public place, a full flavored cigar can often be a little too obtrusive an aroma to introduce into the atmosphere. Sadly not everyone appreciates the delightful scent that a cigar imparts into a room, so if you prefer to keep a low profile then you might find a milder cigar is the best option.

Buy High Quality Cigars, Pipe Tobacco and Bluts at BNB Tobacco

A lot of people think that a mild cigar is the same thing as a tasteless cigar. One puff on a Don Diego proves that antiquated notion to be pure fallacy. A Don Diego releases a thick burst of moist smoke as soon as you inhale, and it’s permeated with a creamy, nutty flavor.  It’s sweet, spicy and immeasurably satisfying.  It’s truly complex in flavor, which is incredibly difficult to find at this price point. There are even hints of walnut, nutmeg and cinnamon in here.  There is almost no finish, which many might find a little disappointing, but if you are enjoying a fine wine or the subtle flavors of a single malt whiskey as an accompaniment to your cigar, then a lack of lingering flavor might be quite appropriate in order that you might appreciate the more subtle qualities of your drink without hinderance

Towards the end of the Don Diego, you’ll find a hint of coffee with some dryer woody notes. This is where the creamy sweetness begins to dissipate, and is replaced with a dark, slightly bitter espresso flavor. There is also a delicious cedar undertone.

If you’ve never tried Don Diego, I very strongly suggest it. You’d do very well to pick up a box. If you’ve ever enjoyed a mild cigar before, you’ll find Don Diego to be up there with the best you’ve ever tried. Even if you’ve always been about the intense, full-bodied cigars, then Don Diego is still worth a try. Sure, it’s never going to occupy the same space in your humidor as your favourite Optimo Cigars, but maybe you’ll find a special place in your heart for it.

Tatiana Cigars

A double guillotine-style cutter, used for cut...

Image via Wikipedia

Tatiana Cigars are another example of the growing trend in high quality flavored cigars. Once merely a gas station novelty, cigars that have been infused with non-tobacco flavoring are now starting to be taken more seriously by real cigar smokers. There are now many companies that create high quality hand rolled cigars in the same lurid range of fruit flavors that were previously only found in the lowest quality machine made cigars, and Tatiana Cigars are one of the most popular. They control a staggering 43 percent of the premium flavored cigar market.

Other than the wide range of flavors available, Tatiana Cigars couldn’t be any different from the cheap gas station cigars they were inspired by. This is a company that keeps a watchful eye on quality and delivers a premium product. All the cigars are handmade with exceptionally high quality Cuban seed Dominican long filler tobacco, and wrapped with an Indonesian wrapper. There is nothing budget about this cigar, it’s a truly premium smoke equal to your favourite unflavored brands in terms of quality and craftsmanship.

Buy High Quality Cigars, Pipe Tobacco and Bluts at BNB Tobacco

Perhaps because of the delicious range of fruit flavors, Tatiana Cigars are one of the few brands (I can only think of Saint Luis Rey Cigars and Agio Meharis cigars that come close) that are equally loved by the fairer sex. This would be a fantastic brand if you wanted to introduce a wife or girlfriend to the fine art of cigar smoking. Don’t worry though gents, it’s perfectly acceptable for men to smoke these delicious cigars too. This is one occasion where there’s nothing feminine about being a bit fruity!

All of the Tatiana Range is delicious, but the clear winner is the Vanilla variety. Unless you have a particular aversion to vanilla flavoring, it’s the one you should try first. The Vanilla Tatiana Cigars have an incredible aroma that jumps right out of the box. Before you light the cigar, the vanilla taste and smell is already very apparent as soon as you put the cigar in your mouth.  Lighting the cigar increase the intensity, and you can instantly pull large, delicious puffs of cool, sweet smoke into your mouth.  It’s a very easy and smooth smoke and while the vanilla flavor is of course very dominant throughout, there are a few little complexities that give a depth to the flavor. There is a slight but unmistakeable hint of brown sugar, and even a touch of sweet almond into the mix. This complexity of flavor is down to the high quality of the tobacco used. It’s also worth noting that the aroma from the smoke of the cigar is very pleasant, and fills a room with a delightful sweet vanilla scent. This is one cigar your wife won’t mind you smoking in the living room. In fact, she might even ask for a taste herself!

Tatiana cigars are the clear choice for any cigar smokers who are fond of flavored smokes. Even if you’re not keen on the idea of a fruit flavored cigar, I suggest that you give them a try. Your adventurousness will be rewarded with a sweet, delicious smoking experience.

Ashton Cigars

If you’ve ever smoked an Ashton Cigar, you’ll understand why they are held in such high esteem. The combination of superior quality tobacco and skilful handmade construction has made Ashton Cigars a byword for quality and value. Ashton Cigars are actually a product line of the much-loved Arturo Fuente, one of the most renowned premium cigar manufactures.  Like everything else that comes out of the famous Chateau de la Fuente, Arturo Fuente’s famous cigar making facility in the Dominican Republic, Ashton Cigars are made with the skill, care and craftsmanship that it takes to create a truly knockout smoke.

If you’re looking to try one of the highly praised Ashton Cigars, I recommend you start off with the Ashton Aged Maduro No. 10.  Ashton use an innovative and unique process in the composition of these cigars, wrapping them in tobacco leaf that has been aged in Sherry finished French oak barrels which gives them a complex flavor profile. The flavor is very spice dominant, so if you like a rich peppery cigar then you’ll find the Aged Maduro is one of the best examples available on the market today. The spice is consistent throughout, but it doesn’t overpower the more subtle undertones of coffee, leather and nuts that are found in this cigar. When you get further down the cigar, you’ll actually find a slightly sour citrus taste starts to creep into the aftertaste, which is a very unusual flavor to find in a cigar of this strength. The only other cigars that feature similar taste profiles are some Flor De Oliva cigars, and perhaps one or two from the Nestors Cigars range. There’s also a hint of sweetness to the finish, almost like a caramel or a toffee flavor. The aged wrapper certainly provides a great complexity to the flavor of this cigar.

If you’re looking to explore Ashton Cigars a bit further, then your next stop should be the Ashton Classic 8-9-8. Like many of the Ashton Cigar range, this one is slightly unique. It’s one of the very few cigars I’ve come across that starts off mild and then ends with a delightful and surprising show of strength.  The very beginning is so mild that it might even be slightly disappointing for strong cigar fans, but their patience is well rewarded. As the cigar develops so too does the flavor, building up a delicious coffee flavor with a hint of chocolate. This coffee flavor starts off as just a slight hint in the background, but by the final third of the cigar it has reached a passionate intensity, growing with each puff.  This unique quality makes the Ashton Classic 8-9-8 a cigar that should be experienced at least once by every cigar smoker, and those who are a fan of smokes with a clearly defined and prominent coffee flavor would do well to keep a well stocked humidor full of these little gems.

The rest of the Ashton Cigars line is equally special. Truly fantastically made cigars from the Dominican Republic that challenges the palate time and time again. You can see the quality in these cigars, and you can certainly taste it.

Rocky Patel

Cigar from nicaragua

Image via Wikipedia

Rocky Patel cigars are relatively new to the cigar market. The tale is an interesting one. Rocky Patel (the man himself) was originally a Hollywood entertainment lawyer who was well known for representing famous movie stars in the legal wrangling that surrounds Hollywood movie deals. Rocky had an illustrious client list, which included “the Governator” Arnold Schwarzengger, and Gene “Popeye Doyle” Hackman. As you can probably imagine, Rocky Patel’s line of work exposed him to the sweet smoke of many premium cigars, and he quickly developed a taste for them. This taste turned into a burning obsession, and it lead to him selling his attorney practice and living in Honduras learning the cigar trade.

Rocky Patel cigars have quickly gained a stellar reputation. The company has put an unprecedented effort into refining the processes that surround cigar manufacture.  They keep a rigorous control on the drying, fermenting, and aging process. By keeping a tight hold on the way these fundamental procedures are carried out, Rocky Patel has managed to take his business from nowhere to being one of the most respected and admired cigar brands in less than ten years.

The Rocky Patel cigar range contains many outstanding cigars but one of the most critically acclaimed is the Rocky Patel Vintage 1992.  Like a wine, and (some) women, a cigar gets better with age, and there is no finer proof of this theory than the Vintage 1992. This cigar is incredibly constructed, and you can very obviously see the care that Rocky Patel has taken to ensure that the manufacturing process has been refined to perfection. It’s already an impressive thing even before you take the first puff…and then you’re in heaven. Every puff of this delicious cigar transports you to a word full of deep, rich oak, toasted almonds and dark roasted coffee beans. The flavors are just as exciting as any of the cigars in the Nestor Cigars range and the taste is sublime.  Smoking this cigar is like sinking deep into your favourite armchair. It’s warm, soft and incredibly comforting.  It’s no surprise that Cigar Aficionado rated it a 90.

The Rocky Patel Decade is another standout cigar in the Rocky Patel range. It was created to celebrate the company’s first ten years in business, and they couldn’t have picked a better way to celebrate than this delightful cigar. This cigar starts off as medium, with a deliciously complex finish. There is a distinctive leather flavor (not unlike some Excalibur Cigars) along with cedar tones, which is followed by a delightful aftertaste that confuses the palate in the best possible way. It’s a truly solid smoke that is unlikely to disappoint.

Rocky Patel cigars are a brand with absolutely no lack of quality in their cigars. Each of their cigars is hand made with a care and craftsmanship that is exemplary. One of the most incredible things about cigars though is their low price.  Rocky Patel cigars are exceptional value, and even more so if you choose to buy cigars online. They are often more highly rated than competitors that are twice the price.

The goodness of AyC Cigars

The AyC Cigars is one of the most favorite cigar brands in the world. The AyC stands for Antonio y Cleopatra. The brand is very old but still has the same demand from the customers as the finest quality of the cigars is still strictly followed by the company.

The starting of the AyC cigars was in 1879. The cigars contain natural wrapper. The dimensions of the cigars are 5.5 and 40. The origin of the AyC cigars is in Dominican Republic, but it has a worldwide fame. The tobacco is also originated in Dominican Republic but to increase the quality of the test, it is blended with Cuban seed tobacco.

The AyC cigars are created with veiny wrappers which are folded and also the wrapper tags are loose. That makes the cigars little uneven to burn but that should not be a problem for the experience smokers. Actually the prime customers of the AyC cigars are also experienced smokers. The test and aroma of the cigars are little strong for the first time smokers.

Buy High Quality Cigars, Pipe Tobacco and Bluts at BNB Tobacco

The aroma of the cigars is strongly scented which lasts for a long time and so it is better to smoke these cigars out of the house. At the start the flavor might not be so intensive, but as you keep smoking it, it will grow stronger. But the harsh flavor never reaches the level where you might want to stub out your cigar. This classic cigar brand is often compared with the famous White Owl blunt. White Owl is a very well known cigar brand for the world class test and quality. Also this is one of the few cheapest cigar brands that have the reputation of the finest test within reasonable price. The AyC is very similar to White Owl in both categories. You can get the excellent AyC cigars for a very low price.

The AyC cigars come in wide range of flavors, like the White Owl blunt. The most favorite flavors of the brand are the Grenadier Natural Dark, Grenadier Natural Dark Coronas, Grenadier Natural Dark Minis, Grenadier Natural Dark Whiffs, Grenadier Natural Light and Grenadier Natural Light Corona

Moreover, they are always in high demand as most people consider them easier to smoke than a standard cigar. However, as the cigarillo produces heavy smoke this smoke should not be inhaled into the lungs, and cigarette smokers may find it slightly difficult to consume. As such they are a healthier alternative to cigarettes. But the delight and satisfaction it offers is unmatchable. The packaging the company provides for these cigarillos is also attractive.

Phillies Cigars Origins

Christopher Columbus, on his mission to find a western route to Asia in1492 discovered a new land. However, tobacco was his most important discovery. He saw the native Arawaks smoking a substance through a tube, which they called “tobago”, which we now know as Tobacco. This new land was named “Hispanola” by Columbus and now it is known as the Dominican Republic, the home of many fine premium cigars. Tobacco and later cigars thus began their entry into the rest of the world.

Phillies Cigars are a very popular brand of American-made cigars. They were originally made in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and thus derive their name. Altadis U.S.A., Inc., an American subsidiary of Spanish-based Altadis S.A., manufactures Phillies.

Black Max, Blunt, Cheroot, Cigarillo, Mexicali Slim, Mini Blunt, Panatella, Perfecto, Sweet, Tip, and Titan are some of the several sizes in which Phillies come.

“Blunts”, is a popular name for a particular size of Phillies cigars, which are commonly sold at convenience stores and gas stations, as well as specialized smoke shops. It is also known as Phillies Blunt, often Phillie Blunt. This name has of late come to refer to all “marijuana cigars”. This is an inexpensive cigar with a tough wrapper and is often emptied and re-rolled with other smoking mixtures. The most common is marijuana.

The several flavors in which Phillies Blunt cigars are available include banana, berry, chocolate aroma, coconut, coffee, cognac, greene de menthe, honey, mango, peach, pina colada, sambuca, sour apple, strawberry, sweet vanilla, sugar, tequila, watermelon, grape, and cinnamon. Barrel O’ Blunt cigars are Phillies Blunts packaged in 50-pack “barrels”. Mini Blunts are also being produced.

A Phillies cigar is the wise consumer’s alternative to the more expensive cigars without losing taste and flavor. They use the same tobacco used in Cohiba, Hoyo de Monterrey and Punch.

The best thing about Phillies cigars undoubtedly is the price. Phillies has managed to keep the cost of labor needed to produce these cigars, minimal over the years. They make sure there is less waste and low labor costs, which comes as the connoisseur’s advantage. However, there is no compromise on quality.

Some of the toxins or irritants in cigar smoke include carbon monoxide, nicotine, hydrogen cyanide, ammonia and volatile aldehydes. Of these, the agent in tobacco that causes addiction or dependence is Nicotine. While cigarettes have an average total nicotine content of about 8.4 milligrams, many popular brands of cigars will contain between 100 and 200 milligrams, or as many as 444 milligrams of nicotine. However as cigars age, the nicotine levels drops off. It can even completely disappear. The quality of the cigar and how long it has aged at the factory determine the time taken for this to happen.
